Frequently asked questions

Will this make my store ADA or EAA compliant?

No tool can promise that. AbleAisle helps you find and fix many common accessibility issues, but automated tests can't catch everything, for example whether alt text is accurate or whether the store works well with a screen reader. Combine scans with manual checks, and ask a qualified professional about legal requirements.

Does it add a widget or overlay to my store?

No. AbleAisle doesn't change how your storefront looks or add scripts to it. Fixes are made to your own content, like image alt text, or explained so you or your developer can make them in your theme.

What does a scan look at?

Your home page, a sample of collections and products, the cart and information pages, using automated checks based on WCAG 2.1 level AA. Checkout is run by Shopify and isn't scanned.

Will the AI change my products without asking?

No. Alt text is drafted for you to review and edit. Nothing is saved until you select it and click save.

My store is password protected. Can I still scan it?

Yes. Enter your storefront password in the app's settings. It's stored encrypted and used only to load your storefront for scans.

How do I cancel?

Change or cancel your plan any time from the Plans page in the app, or uninstall the app. Billing is handled by Shopify.

What data do you keep?

Store details, scan results and alt-text drafts. We don't access customer or order data. See the privacy policy for details.
